Friday night, 2 weeks ago, Angus and I along with my work colleague Michelle and 2 of her friends Clive and Claire completed a 20 mile walk through London for Maggie’s Cancer Caring centers in the UK.

Our walk started at 8:15pm (after completed a full day at work) and saw us walk from Tower bridge area to the west (Hammersmith) and back to the city, finishing near St Pauls, with a several stops along the way to enjoy some tea/coffee and snacks; we crossed the finish line just after 5am Saturday morning.

At times I can descibe our feelings as joyous and the 9 hours of walking together was a great chance to chat and reflect on what other good deeds we could do.

For me it was the last 4 miles that were a long hard walk. We had just had a rest at the Royal Institute of Architech and I somehow managed to spill my cup of tea and completely misunderstand what Angus was saying to me. I think my sense of hearing and some of my motor skills were on the way out ! My legs were tired, my feet sore and I was feeling quite exhausted … and for the last mile, I was on autopilot plodding away to the finish line.
Between the 5 of us, there were only a few blisters and some legs and feet.
